Award:

A broad introduction to Team Leading, First Line Management and Leadership & Management study that provides the fundamental skills and competencies required at each level.

Duration of study is an average of 20 hours which is delivered via a blend of workshops, on-line activities & distance learning and work based learning.

Assessment is facilitated by work based learning assignment(s).

Certificate:

Wider knowledge of the competencies and skills required for Team Leading, First Line Management and Leadership & Management. A greater length of study that provides the further skills and competencies required at each level.

Duration of study is an average of 60 hours which is delivered via a blend of workshops, on-line activities & distance learning and work based learning.

Assessment is facilitated by work based learning assignment(s).

Diploma:

A comprehensive knowledge of the competencies and skills required for Team Leading, First Line Management and Leadership & Management. A more comprehensive length of study that provides a full range of skills and competencies required at each level.

Duration of study is an average of between 130 and 235 hours which is delivered via a blend of workshops, on-line activities & distance learning and work based learning.

Additional events and activities including residential team building may be included at extra cost.

Assessment is facilitated by work based learning assignment(s).

Level 2 Team Leading:

Level 2 in Team Leading lets you develop your knowledge of the roles and responsibilities of a team leader by focusing on specific skills areas.

Typical units:

• Being a team leader
• Providing customer service
• Team performance
• Building work relationships
• Team development

Progression:

On successful completion of a Level 2 qualification in Team Leading, a number of progression opportunities become available:

• Enhance your professional status by joining a professional membership
• Progress to other qualifications at the same level (e.g. from Level 2 Award to Level 2 Certificate etc.)
• Progress to other qualifications at the next level (e.g. from Level 2 Certificate to Level 3 Certificate)

Level 3 First Line Management:

First Line Management provides an introduction to the skills, roles and responsibilities of this management area. It will also develop your basic knowledge by focusing on the development of specific management skills.

Typical units:

• Resource planning
• Recruitment and selection
• Being a leader
• Management team dynamics
• Improving team performance

Progression:

On successful completion of a Level 3 qualification in First Line Management, a number of progression opportunities become available:
Enhance your professional status by upgrading your professional membership

• Progress to other qualifications at the same level (e.g. from Level 3 Award to Level 3 Certificate etc)
• Progress to other qualifications at the next level (e.g. from Level 3 Certificate to Level 4 or 5 Certificate)

Level 5 Management:

The Level 5 qualifications in Management and Leadership are designed for middle managers and those aspiring to senior management who want to develop key skills such as managing resources, recruitment and information management.

The Level 5 qualifications in Management and Leadership are designed for practising middle managers who wish to develop their core management skills and practices. These qualifications focus on the personal development of the individual learner’s management capabilities and competencies.

A Diploma in Management and Leadership is the benchmark qualification for full professional membership, potentially taking you another step towards perhaps a Chartered Manager status.

• Human resource development
• Operational risk management
• Ethical organisational management
• Managing ideas and innovation

Progression:

On successful completion of a Level 5 qualification in Management and Leadership, a number of progression opportunities become available:

• Enhance your professional status by upgrading your professional membership
• Progress to other qualifications at the same level (e.g. from Level 5 Award to Level 5 Certificate etc)
• Progress to other qualifications at the next level (e.g. from Level 5 Certificate to Level 6 or 7 Certificate)

An additional fee is added to your first registration for any qualification at any level. This provides initial Student Membership of the professional Institute. This fee is only applied once.
